Is there anyone on here into Hammig flutes? I know Benny and Andres are. I remember seeing them a lot in London in the 80's but my head was into Japanese flutes back then specifically Muramatsu. I recently bought a plated 60's Hammig that I had restored and it plays beautifully.I really like it. It has a lot of volume and is responsive but will take the air. I think it is a 440 pitch as it seems to tune with a slight pull out of the head.
The quality and detail of these flutes is extraordinary .they are handmade with great attention to detail..I would love to go the Hammig workshop . I'm intrigued to get a solid silver one despite my recent bad Ebay experience and am on the hunt. I'm also going to get one of their piccs..they seem much more available than the flutes in the UK. They don't have a UK outlet I asked.

Hammig Piccolo Serial Numbers - Xsonarthree.web.fc2.com
Mar 06, 2016 My C piccolo is a late sixties/early seventies Gemeinhardt 4P. My Db piccolo is a three digit serial number Haynes (wood). While in the Navy, I played on Navy -issued sterling Haynes (C) and Selmer (Db). The Selmer was a terrible instrument, with poor response in all registers and a horrible scale. All that is needed is a flutist at the helm. It is stamped: The Muramatsu Flute; MA for Muramatsu America (rib) EX III (Muramatsu model EX III) Please call us if you would like the serial number. Muramatsu flute with Brannen headjoint & Hammig piccolo Stolen: 26 Jun 2011 - Bern If you have any information about these instruments please contact me. It is a Philipp Hammig with a 900 in the Gis-key, so it is a Piccolo with silver mechanism (model 650/4). The wood is grenadilla, the head is full silver (900 engraved). It comes with a case. Serial number can be seen on the picture as well.I do not know the excact made year. Ask for more detailed pictures if desired.
